| Being born in Pennsylvania and living here most of my life, I am back in the house I was born and raised in after living in Leetsdale on the Ohio River, about five miles from here and northwest of Pittsburgh. I have to admit I have a fondness for this area...it's hard to leave, although I am not really a cold-weather person. I've recently had a career change back to teaching and finished out the 2006 school year teaching Fifth Grade Reading in the district where I was educated. Graduating from Ambridge High School and then pursuing my education at Clarion State enabled me to obtain my BS degree in Elementary Education....substituting locally and teaching third grade in McDowell County Schools in Panther, West Virginia back in the late 70' s and early 80's. Teaching a gifted class and beginning to utilize computers in schools brought me back home to Pittsburgh to continue my education at Computer Tech to become a Computer Programmer of business applications (COBOL and all the dinosaur stuff). I went on to teach at the school and through the years have worked in a variety of functionalities.....health care, manufacturing, government, financial! Up to this point, I was a cat fancier and appreciated and rescued "mixed breeds" from our local humane society. When moving into my own house, my niece and nephew came along with me to the shelter to find a "small dog".....Craig (age 7) and Laura (age 3) and I figured a cat had to do.....so Bubbles came to live with Aunt Kathy! Being a programmer allowed me more financial freedom, but yet I longed to be involved with education, so I became very active in St. John's Lutheran Church Sunday School, where I have taught the 4 and 5 year olds for over 15 years! I also realized that I needed something more in my live and I guess being "too picky" made that become a dog in my life instead of human companionship!!! And the search was on.......to find that "perfect" dog.....I also became a "part-time" Accessory Specialist/Displayer Decorator with Home Interiors and Gifts out of Dallas, Texas....which has enabled me to meet some wonderful people and expand my desire for beauty... I then found my first papillon, after years of research and searching locally at Sarah and Dennis' home, yes..... that was Mitzi! Her desire to please and the pleasure in the eyes of those whom she touched, made me think..."there has got to be something she can do....too small for extensive obedience, not quite up to show conformation standard for papillons......." then I found Therapy Dogs......yes, Papillons (like most dogs) are like POTATO CHIPS, and ironically the next addition was just that...a couch potato name "Chip".....Kimbriel's Tater's Chip (named after Tater who is the "house dog" of the Cosner family).....and the rest is well......HISTORY (as they say).....and laid out before you on the www.kayladeepapillons.com website that is a labor of love for all of my "Old" friends and my "New" friends to ENJOY!!!! It's continually changing and recently updated the Summer of 2006!!! | |||||||||
